Analysis Of The Working Points And Maintenance Methods Of Trolley Furnace And Related Precautions

In the production of machinery, a trolley furnace is a type of heat processing equipment that uses energy to heat materials or other raw materials. Trolley furnaces are relatively easy to maintain and are primarily used for normalizing, quenching, and annealing mechanical components and parts. While simple to operate, careful training is required to prevent unnecessary damage.

Trolley furnaces are cyclical furnaces with a single, undivided furnace chamber. The bottom of a trolley furnace is a movable trolley. Before heating, the trolley is loaded outside the furnace, and the heated workpiece is placed on a dedicated sled. A traction mechanism then pulls the trolley into the furnace for heating. After heating, the trolley is pulled out of the furnace and unloaded. The heated workpiece can then be hoisted to the forging equipment using a crane for processing.

Operators must understand the following: The structure and performance of the trolley furnace and its auxiliary equipment; The layout of the power distribution system, control system, and the location of safety devices; Operating procedures and safety procedures. Pre-operation checks: Check that the equipment's power supply is normal and that there are no phase interruptions, short circuits, or exposed wires. Check that the grounding connection is in good contact. Check the heating elements for damage, ensure proper contact at all joints, and check for any contact with the furnace body and hood. Check the temperature control system for any abnormalities. Check the furnace door and trolley movement for proper operation.

Workpieces containing corrosive, volatile, or explosive gases are strictly prohibited from being processed in the trolley furnace body to avoid affecting the service life of the heating elements and refractory materials and causing explosions. The trolley furnace must not be operated at excessive temperatures, as this will shorten the equipment's service life. Workpieces with excessive oxide scale must be cleaned before entering the furnace, using a wire brush. Workpieces should be stacked evenly, approximately 100-150 mm from the heating elements. Rough handling is strictly prohibited, and workpieces should be handled gently to avoid impact. Operators must not leave their posts while the trolley furnace is in operation and must always monitor the furnace's operating conditions. When loading or unloading workpieces, the heating elements must be disconnected from the power supply to ensure operator safety.
