Maintenance Methods Of Box Furnace

A box furnace is an electric furnace with a box-shaped exterior and chamber. It is a heat treatment furnace. During heat treatment experiments, the workpiece remains stationary. Simply open the furnace door, neatly place the tools required for the experiment in the center of the furnace, and close the door. To remove the workpiece, open the door, remove the workpiece, and close the door. This furnace is also called a muffle furnace. Box furnaces are categorized by temperature range: low-temperature box furnaces (300°C-1200°C), medium-temperature box furnaces (1300°C-1400°C), and high-temperature box furnaces (1500°C-1800°C).

Box furnaces offer high temperature accuracy and ease of operation. Mastering box furnace maintenance techniques can improve furnace efficiency, save costs, and enhance business profitability. Mastering high-temperature box furnace maintenance methods can extend furnace efficiency and lifespan. The following briefly explains box furnace maintenance:

The heating program for box furnaces is pre-programmed at the factory. Users should follow the instructions in the manual. The box furnace will automatically heat up, but careful observation is required during the heating process. If temperature deviation occurs, allow the furnace to run for a while and observe. If the deviation persists, or if it is excessively large or the temperature fluctuates excessively, activate the auto-tuning function to assist in parameter control. If this still does not work, contact the manufacturer for a solution.

When using a box furnace, it is also important to note that workpieces containing high moisture, volatiles, or organic matter must not be directly placed in the furnace for heating. Furthermore, high-temperature molten materials such as metal and glass must not be placed in the furnace for heating without a crucible. Regularly inspect the condition of the heating elements. If any signs of aging, cracking, or short circuiting occur, repair or replace them promptly. Frequently remove scrap, dust, and other debris from the furnace to keep it clean.
