Characteristics And Types Of Pit-type Resistance Furnaces

The cover of a pit-type resistance furnace is also welded from steel. The interior is laminated with a high-temperature-resistant aluminum silicate refractory fiber needle-punched blanket, secured at the bottom with heat-resistant stainless steel wire mesh and heat-resistant stainless steel round steel.
Features of a pit-type resistance furnace:

1. The furnace is equipped with a large ventilator to improve temperature uniformity within the furnace.

2. The furnace is controlled by multiple zones to further improve temperature uniformity.

3. The furnace chamber is equipped with a stainless steel air guide barrel.

4. The cover is opened and closed using a crane or an automatic hydraulic opening and closing mechanism, with guide posts to ensure smooth opening and closing.

5. The cover and furnace body are made of high-temperature-resistant fiber cotton, providing excellent thermal insulation, saving energy, and reducing production costs.

6. It offers excellent environmental benefits.

Types of pit-type resistance furnaces:

Pit-type resistance furnaces come in many types and are used in a wide range of applications. They primarily operate in natural or protective atmospheres and are used for heat treatment or sintering of long metal workpieces (rods, long shafts).

Most well-type resistance furnaces are cylindrical. Due to the long furnace body, in order to facilitate the loading and operation of workpieces, large and medium-sized well-type resistance furnaces are usually installed in pits, with only part of them exposed above the ground. The furnace shell is made of steel plates, and the furnace lining structure is similar to that of a box-type resistance furnace, consisting of a heat-insulating refractory layer and a thermal insulation layer. Depending on the working temperature, it is divided into high-temperature, medium-temperature and low-temperature well-type resistance furnaces, each using different furnace lining materials. In order to reduce the volume of some well-type resistance furnaces, the furnace body and furnace cover are both water-cooled. This type of furnace does not have a refractory layer or a thermal insulation layer, and uses metal materials as a heat insulation screen. Its energy consumption is much greater than that of a furnace lining made of thermal insulation materials.
