Components of Bell Type Furnace
Base (or Hearth):
This is where the metal components are loaded, typically on a support fixture or tray.

Bell or Hood:
A movable, insulated chamber that covers the base during the heat treatment cycle. It contains the heating elements and often circulates a protective gas.

Inner Retort (optional):
In gas-tight systems, a retort is used to separate the workload from the heating elements and control the atmosphere precisely.

Temperature Control System:
Sensors and controllers ensure precise temperature regulation throughout the heating cycle.

Safety Interlocks:
These are crucial for preventing accidents, such as overheating or improper gas flow.

Loading: The workload (objects to be heat treated) is placed on the hearth inside the base.
Lowering the Bell: The bell is lowered over the base, creating a sealed chamber.
Heating: The heating elements within the base raise the temperature of the chamber to the desired level.
Atmosphere Control (Optional): In some cases, an inert gas like nitrogen is introduced into the chamber to prevent oxidation.
Soaking:
The workload is held at the desired temperature for a predetermined time to ensure uniform heat distribution.
Cooling:
The heating elements are turned off, and the chamber is allowed to cool down naturally or with a controlled cooling system.
Raising the Bell:
Once the cooling process is complete, the bell is raised, allowing access to the workload.
Packaging and Shipping
Trucking: For local or short-distance shipments, a flatbed truck is typically used. Use heavy-duty strapping or chains to secure the stove to the truck bed. Ensure the strapping is properly tightened and has no slack. Place padding between the stove and the truck bed to prevent scratches and damage.
Containerizing: For long-distance or overseas shipments, use a container. Inside the container, use wooden blocks or brackets to support the stove and prevent it from moving.
